K-5 Registration & Enrollment Information

New to QPS:

  • Search your address in the Interactive Boundary Map to see which of our K-5 schools you will enroll your student(s) in.
    • You must use your primary residence for enrollment & registration.
    • You will be asked to provide proof of residency.
  • Call the school office or stop in during school hours to enroll your student(s).
    • If you are enrolling over the summer for the upcoming school year, contact Cara Bell at Rooney Elementary School at 217-228-7117 to set up a time to enroll.
  • Bring a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate, proof of residency and a photo ID to the enrollment.  If applicable, bring proof of custody/guardianship documents.
  • The enrollment secretary will complete an enrollment with you and provide you access to Skyward Family Access to complete the online registration for your student(s).
  • These steps apply to any students who were once enrolled at QPS, but have not been active during the current school year.

For all QPS students:

  • Complete Skyward Online Registration prior to the first day of school.
    • Make sure all contact information is correct and up to date ASAP.
    • A change of address will require proof of residency.
    • Any changes to guardianship, custodial rights, legal name change (for students), etc… will require proper documentation on file at the school office.
    • Contact your school office if you need login and password information.
  • Fees may be paid online through Skyward (checks payable to Quincy Public Schools) K-5 – $60
  • Physicals, immunizations, eye exam and dental exam records must be provided to the school nurse.

For Kindergarten:

  • Attend a Kindergarten Round-Up event at the school your Kindergarten student will be enrolled at for the upcoming school year.
    • Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st.
  • Medical forms, Entrance Questionnaires and Kindergarten Readiness information will be provided and completed at Round-Up.
